Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a meditation retreat at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari, starting from Thursday evening until June 1. The decision follows the conclusion of campaigning for the last phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
Modi's meditation sessions will take place at Dhyan Mandapam, the site where revered Hindu philosopher Swami Vivekananda is said to have experienced a divine vision of 'Bharat Mata'.
Ahead of Modi's visit, security measures have been heightened, with 2000 police personnel deployed to ensure safety during his stay. Additionally, the Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy will maintain a tight vigil in the area. To facilitate the meditation retreat, the beach will be off-limits to tourists from Thursday to Saturday, and private boats will not be permitted to ferry individuals.
